Domain transfer is the process of moving a registered domain name from one domain registrar to another. A domain registrar is a company that manages the registration of domain names.
A domain transfer may be initiated for various reasons, such as to switch to a different domain registrar with better prices or services, to consolidate all domain names with a single registrar, or to take advantage of promotional offers or discounts.
To transfer a domain, the domain owner must first unlock the domain with the current registrar and obtain an authorization code, also known as an EPP code or transfer key. Then, the owner must initiate the transfer process with the new registrar and provide the authorization code. The transfer usually takes a few days to complete and the domain may be temporarily unavailable during the process. Once the transfer is complete, the domain will be registered with the new registrar and the domain owner will be able to manage it through the new registrar's control panel.
